"Loved this hotel. Warm, welcoming, very comfortable lounge areas and some beautiful pieces of period furniture. Nice bar with an intimate “clubby” feel to it. The staff are excellent, professional yet friendly, a credit to the hotel. My wife and I chose a large room on the second floor with a large bay window and sea views. This was a great choice giving lots of room, two comfortable armchairs and a table in the bay window. We particularly enjoyed this as we have large rooms at home and sometimes hotel rooms can feel rather cramped. The bed was a super king double and super comfy! We went on the bed breakfast and dinner option and we are glad we did. The food is without doubt some of the best we have enjoyed in any hotel and we have stayed in quite a number at home and abroad over many years. The quality is of the highest order and the choice, cooking and presentation superb. The restaurant, because that’s what it is rather than a “dining room “ is lovely with a good ambiance consisting of a main area and a conservatory area in which we ate. The restaurant staff were excellent, and were always attentive when needed, for example I dropped a knife on the floor and a staff member was over in a shot to pick it up and replace it with a fresh one. That is representative of the quantity of the service. It is very popular with non residents as well as residents and that creates a nice atmosphere. All in all a great two night stay. We will be visiting Aldeburgh in the future and as far as we are concerned this is the only place to stay."

"Best hotel stay ever! Room was spacious, tastefully decorated and the bed was super comfy. Bathroom was a decent size with a very easy to use state of the art shower. The chocolates in the room were a nice touch. It was very quiet with no late night noise which I appreciated. All meals were perfect, a great variety and cooked to perfection. Pleasantly surprised that the our half board evening meal was three course. All staff were pleasant and helpful. You will not be disappointed if you stay here as it was perfect and excellent value for money."

"Sshhh don’t tell anyone else about this great independently run seaside hotel, where it feels like a home from home and the food is fabulous or we won’t be able to return next year for our New Years celebration. Our group of 8 friends had a wonderful time including Bobby the cocker spaniel. The staff are so friendly and helpful , nothing is too much trouble, and it’s in a great location, next to the beach, near the shops and a brisk walk away from another of the best kept secrets the Kitchen in Thorpeness. We have already reserved our rooms for next new year eve. Thank you all the staff and Chris and a happy new year!"

"Everything seems alright in the world when at the Wentworth! This was our second Christmas in a row. The ambience was charming and cosy, the food quite exceptional, and the service friendly and attentive. All in all, a wonderfully relaxing experience!"

"LOVE THE WENTWORTH. As integral to Aldeburgh as Adnams and Fish and Chips. I go to The Wentworth as often as I can as I live across the road. We take the dogs in Summer and sit in the garden and it is heavenly. The system, order at the bar with table number works really well and the menu is extensive and delicious. My mum has been eating and sometimes staying at The Wentworth for over 70 years, now I have a house opposite I make her stay with me but I can see her looking longingly over the road. The Wentworth is a wonderful institution and good value. I've been coming since I was a small child in the 70s and love it as much now as I did then."

"I’ve had the pleasure of frequenting the Wentworth for the past 10 years, it’s always a favourite of ours to drop in for a pot of tea following a Sunday stomp around the marshes and along the beach. The Wentworth is the last bastion of Britains once world famous seaside hotels, it’s like stepping back into a once care free past, with distinctively old school decor, tentative and polite staff, for the often distinguished clientele who are all here doing their best to escape the hustle and bustle of modern day madness. The Wentworth stands out like a vodka martini against the mocktails of other once grand hotels in the town, who have done all they can to strip themselves of any historical context in their quest to attract a neuvea riche, who aspire to plain white walls, pastel painted furniture, stainless steel and glass, changing the face of all our costal towns. So I say- Bravo to the Wentworth management team for not falling foul to this dire trend that has befallen almost every other hotel and pub on the Suffolk coast, you really are a gem that will forever be a pleasure to those who visit."

"Birthday Trip to Remember: We have just returned from a birthday stay for my wife and can only praise the Hotel for a wonderful time. We had a marvellous large sea facing room and on the afternoon of our arrival we had toasted teacakes with tea in the lovely lounge with sea views. As for the meals, what can I say. Dinner on each evening was an excellent 3 course meal, and the breakfast really set you up for the day. The staff were so friendly and very helpful and I would certainly recommend this Hotel, to the extent that we have booked again!!"

"It was our first stay at the Wentworth and it's not difficult to understand why this lovely hotel attracts a loyal following of regular visitors. The public areas are traditionally but stylishly decorated , with some attractive artwork on the walls. Parking was easy and the standard of service was excellent throughout our stay. We had a light and airy corner room on the second floor which provided beautiful views over the beach and along the coast. Breakfast was waiter service only - but our order was taken promptly and the service was efficient and friendly. The breakfast itself was excellent - freshly cooked and tasty. Sadly no kippers on the breakfast menu that morning . We would certainly stay again on any future visits to the Suffolk coast."

"Fantastic stay at The Wentworth. Great location for exploring Aldeburgh and Southwold. Lovely room (bedroom and separate sitting room) overlooking the sea. Quiet with very comfortable bed. Bathroom well appointed and very clean. It’s 25 years since my last stay at the hotel and it’s as good now as it was then. Beautiful decor, lovely service, great staff. Open fires and beautiful public rooms are a delight. We had dinner bed and breakfast and the food was first class. I used to think of the bar at The Wentworth as one of my favourite places to be - it still is. Thanks to everyone who makes the experience so special."

"Perfect location to relax. A perfect location for a lunch and/or just drinks. We stay nearby every June and the wentworth terrace and gardens are a joy to sit in and unwind. The lunches we had were fresh and delicious, a good choice of drinks and the staff friendly and efficient. The gardeners in particular should be commended for blending formal and informal planting so seamlessly. P.s just embrace the gulls, it is the coast after all "

"Last minute booking for 2 nights which we did directly with the hotel. We had a room at the front which looked newly refurbished. Very comfortable bed, plenty of space and chairs in the window to sit and admire the amazing view. Best shower in a hotel and we were lovely and warm. The deal included breakfast and a 3 course evening meal. The food was delicious and the service efficient and friendly. The hotel was spotless and we hope to return."
